Terms of Service

Last updated: October 17, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MoveYourShed ("Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform. We may update these terms at any time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. The Marketplace

MoveYourShed is an online marketplace that connects homeowners, shed dealers, builders, and rent-to-own companies ("Customers") with independent professional shed movers ("Haulers" or "Drivers"). We do not provide moving services ourselves. We facilitate introductions, job postings, and bidding, and charge only platform membership and posting fees.

We make no guarantee that any job will receive bids, that any bid will be accepted, or that any move will be completed satisfactorily. The Platform's role is limited to connecting parties and providing software; Customers arrange and pay for moves directly with Haulers.

Referral platform, not a broker or carrier. MoveYourShed provides software and referrals. We are not a moving broker, freight broker, motor carrier, or household goods carrier. We do not transport property, arrange transportation for compensation, hold out to provide transportation, set or negotiate move rates, dispatch on a Hauler's behalf, or collect move payments. Each Hauler independently decides whether to quote a job, sets its own price, contracts directly with the Customer, and is paid directly by the Customer. Platform subscription fees paid to MoveYourShed are for software access and referrals only.

Hauler approval includes manual review after a USDOT number and proof of insurance are provided; approval is not a guarantee of licensing, insurance coverage, DOT authority, safety record, or workmanship. Customers should request current proof of licensing and insurance from a Hauler before confirming a move. Haulers are bound by a Hauler Agreement with MoveYourShed, which requires independent contractor status, their own insurance and licensing, responsibility for permits and customer contracts, DOT and state law compliance, and indemnification of MoveYourShed.

3. User Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it updated.

Anyone who signs up as a hauler can browse the load board, subject to account restrictions. To bid, a hauler must be approved by us after providing a USDOT number and proof of insurance. Approved haulers receive a one-time 30-day free trial of bidding starting at approval. After the trial, a $9.99/month membership is required to bid; existing subscribers may retain their existing price. We reserve the right to deny or revoke hauler status, including for failure to meet insurance, licensing, or quality requirements.

Customer names beyond the first name, phone numbers, email addresses, and street address text remain locked for unpaid and trial haulers, even if they win a job. Only approved haulers with a paid membership can see these details and contact customers, for jobs they win or are selected for, or as the Platform permits paid haulers to access. All registered drivers can see an exact pickup map pin on the load board; delivery locations remain town-level for drivers whose details are locked. A visible pickup pin is not permission to bypass locked customer contact information.

4. Payments

Homeowners can post a move and receive bids and quotes without a platform fee. Business accounts have posting allowances, per-post fees, and membership options as shown on the Platform. Payment for the move itself is arranged directly between the Customer and the Hauler.

Move fees are agreed upon directly between the Customer and the Hauler. We do not collect, hold, or disburse move payments, and we take no commission on moves. We charge only platform membership and posting fees disclosed before purchase; authorization of a platform fee does not authorize us to collect payment for a move.

All prices are in U.S. dollars. You are responsible for any applicable taxes, except where we are legally required to collect them.

5. Contractor Relationships

Haulers using the Platform are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of MoveYourShed. We do not control, supervise, or direct the work of any Hauler. Haulers are solely responsible for their equipment, insurance, licenses, permits, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Customers understand and agree that they are engaging Haulers directly. Any disputes regarding the quality, timeliness, or conduct of a move must be resolved between the Customer and the Hauler. We may, at our discretion, assist with dispute mediation but are not obligated to do so.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the Platform to:

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination, forfeiture of fees, and potential legal action.

7. Insurance and Liability

Haulers are required to maintain adequate cargo, liability, and automotive insurance for their operations. Customers should verify insurance coverage directly with their selected Hauler before confirming a move.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOVEYOURSHED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM OR ANY MOVE ARRANGED THROUGH IT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, LOST PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid to MoveYourShed in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within thirty (30) days, the dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules. Arbitration shall take place in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

You agree that any arbitration or legal proceeding will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. Both parties waive any right to a jury trial.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and materials on the Platform are owned by or licensed to MoveYourShed and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you will cease, and you remain liable for any outstanding payments.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any legal action not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
